Oracle is no longer supporting the Sybase Infomaker 10.5 functionality embedded within Primavera Contract Management (CM) 12.1 and 13.0.  For customers using this functionality, there  are two courses of action available.

Option 1: Download CM 13.1

  • No support contract changes are necessary.
  • Note: Support for CM 13.1 ends June 30, 2013. Given the potential complexity of the migration to 14.x, please read the FAQs below in full, as you should start planning a migration now.)

Option 2: Migrate to CM Business Intelligence Publisher Edition 14.x

  • Through a partner. You should continue to renew your support on Primavera Contract Manager and you will receive credits for unused support as part of the license migration, as per standard business practices.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why are we asking customers to upgrade/migrate?

CM Business Intelligence Publisher 14.x is the recommended long-term upgrade path as it provides Oracle replacement functionality and is Oracle's path for future product enhancements. The upgrade can require significant effort and expense; and as a result, most customers will be best off initially performing a minor release upgrade to CM 13.1. However, they should start planning their long-term migration strategy as support for CM 13.1 now ends June, 30 2013.

No new or expansion sales are available for CM 12.1 or 13.0. No new sales are available for CM 13.1 and no expansion sales will be possible after June 24, 2012

How will Product Support Change?

Premier support for CM 12.1 ends November 30, 2011. There is no Extended Support, but limited Sustaining Support is available through November 2012. This shortens the Sustaining Support period by one year.

Premier support for CM 13.x ends June 2013. This is an adjustment to the original October 2014 date. There is no Extended Support per standard published dates and Indefinite Sustaining Support has been dropped.

What if customers require replacement media for versions prior to 13.1?

Sybase required Oracle to stop distribution of version 10.5 of their Infomaker product as of July 29th, 2011. No type of Sybase code distribution (including new and existing fixes or media replacement is available. Support for Sybase Infomaker 12, which is used in CM 13.1, ends June 2013.

What is involved with upgrading from 13.0 to 13.1?

Most customers are expected to initially upgrade from CM 13.0 to CM 13.1. A migration tool will be provided and this minor release upgrade typically entails minimal effort. Customers with valid support contracts can download the upgrade at no additional charge and no license migration is needed.

Does 14.0 require a BI Publisher license?

Customers can upgrade to CM Business Intelligence Publisher Edition 14.x. This will provide customers with Oracle replacement functionality and position them for future Oracle product enhancements.

Upgrading to CM 14.0 will require a BI Publisher software license migration and related server hardware.

Customers wishing to re-create custom reports and use the letter module will also need to upgrade BI Publisher to a full functionality license.

How does this affect customers using 12.1?

Customers can also upgrade from CM 12.1 to 13.1 at no extra charge for the CM license. However, those using the free Sybase database will need to migrate their database and purchase an applicable license and related server hardware.
